LocationLite for ElvUI

Latest Update: Oct 14, 2014 07:42 PM
Description: This is the "lite" version of LocationPlus. This version has no tooltip or the datatexts, thus having a small memory footprint. I kept most of the layout options (size, text coloring, fonts) and added a new layout: AsphyxiaUI Style :)

Installation: Install as any addon.

Note: Just make sure you don't have LocationPlus AND LocationLite loaded. You will see a popup in case you forgot to disable one of them.

for cpu load I use ElvUI's "System" datatext (the one that shows addon memory load). If you type "/console set scriptprofile 1" (without the quotes) and then reload, the datatext shows cpu usage per addon.

Just type "/console set scriptprofile 0" and reload when you finish to disable it (highly recommended).

Thanks for the fix, looks much better now.

My comparison with ZoneInfo was only meant about the 50% CPU load increase when level range was enabled.

PS: Which addon do you use for measuring CPU load (or rather displaying what WOW measures)? ;)

Thank you very much for grabbing this. Updated both addons. The addon you mentioned (Zoneinfo) doesn't display coords, which means it doesn't need to be updated frequently as Location Plus/Lite do, therefore it doesn't need much CPU calcs. It gets updated only when changing zones.
Screenshot after the changes (Broker_Location is almost the same with LocationPlus):

and after a long trip from Stormwind to Zul 'Aman with location auto width, detailed coords and level range enabled:

Hi. Thanks for this useful addon and for implementing the level range view in the Plus version earlier!

Unfortunately I decided to uninstall it for the time being due to LocationPlus/Lite using too much CPU time for what it does. It's not like it's very high on CPU load, but its CPU load stays in the vicinity of much bigger addons like ElvUI, Vuhdo, Thread Plates and Trade Skill Master. This is especially true when the level range display (in Plus) is turned on for the datatext (about 50% increase of CPU load), while another broker addon called "Zoneinfo" displays the same information at virtually 0% CPU load.

for LocationLite 1.05 :)

L["Truncate text"] = "缩短文本"
L["Truncates the text rather than auto enlarge the location panel when the text is bigger than the panel."] = "自动缩短文本显示,以适应面板宽度."

@Stimulate: Done in v1.05. Enjoy :)

@Stimulate: Yup, was thinking about it as an option, no one asked so... I slacked :P
Gonna try to add it in the next release... soon(tm)

Would it make sense for the zone text to be truncated to fit the panel when using a fixed width?

I have LocationLite positioned below (and sized to match) the mini-map and places like "Orgrimmar Rocketway Exchange" push the panel out past the mini-map.

Many thanks for the addon.
