Thanks for all, but if you think you want to stop it, just stop doing it.

I've quitted wow last month because it's just not the same anymore.. my biggest reason was LFR.
I had my account active just for being an officer of a guild, and after alot of thinking i tought, wth, i am paying to keep the guild active and all, thats not what i should pay for, i can put alot of free time in other cool stuff and all, and it saves me some money aswell!

Again, good job you did, and thanks for it, but if you don't want to play/support the UI, just don't.. don't keep it alive because other people want to.

Please! Don't leave us with the default UI. I couldn't stand playing WoW without ElvUI or TukUI. They are such a neccessity of WoW now as recount is for damage meters. We need Tukui, we need ElvUI. Keep this community alive.

Tukui/Elvui are amazing and have made my WoW the enjoyable game i love. I havnt used the default ui since middle of TBC and it took me a long time to find an addon that i stuck with, and that was Tukui <3 and ive been bugging you ever since Tukz lol. Then with the great changes made with the ingame config i swapped to Elvui :). Alot has changed in WoW since TBC alone and with MOP round the corner its about to happen again. But for me personally i really couldnt see myself playing with the default ui if you guys gave up the ghost so to speak, id understand however. I will continue my support til the day you shut it down! Which hopefully will never happen! But in the unfortunate event that it does, id like to thank everyone who has worked on this wonderful ui since its creation and hope you go on to bigger and brighter things outside of WoW, even though we all know theres no such thing as life outside WoW ;).

And just an observation but i personally know of lots of players who converted to Elvui (myself included) when it was rewritten and made available on curse to download. This might explain the drop in community activity. Elv your so good at what you do less people need to seek help on here lol :D
I really hope you all decide to continue with your great work, WoW wont be the same without any of it! And heck who knows: you might enjoy bouncing round as a panda :D

My Two cents is the following. Do what you want to do.

Will I be sad if Tukui / Elvui no longer exist? Of Course!
Will I grip and complain about having to "recreate" my UI with a bazillion addons? Yep!
Will I understand if you don't want to do this anymore? Absolutely!

In the end it is just a game you haven't actively played in quite a bit of time. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

From cataclysm the only reason I log into the game is just talking with my friends and install the new version of Tukui。If tukui no longer exist,WOW is no longer a game for me, just a chat tool!

Tukz, you are warmhearted man ,whatever you decide I'll always support you!

I cannot play wow without TukUI. Plain and simple.

WoW is down in general, but this has followed the same pattern for every single xpac thus far in wow. People get tired of the game and find other things to do while waiting for the new xpac to drop. And, Blizzard always come through with some very cool new things.

I would really hate to see TukUI die :(

There is a very, very, very low chance I'll come back with MoP I'm thinking if I don't get into the beta test, I'll more then likely not bother with MoP at all, currently I got plenty of games keeping me busy all day, every day. So far I'm over 1 month free of WoW with zero urge at all to play simply because it got just dreadfully boring.

I'm seriously going to miss Tukui, if you decide not to update it for MoP. It's the best UI out there imo, and after having used Tukui for several years, I just can't see myself ever using any other UI.
So thanks for your hard work, it's really been much appreciated.

First, Thank you for all your efforts to date!

I will miss Tuk/ElvUI if you decide to discontinue them but I understand (as should all) that this is a game an people move on.

I hope you reconsider and do continue but most of all I hope you do what you enjoy!

I'm just gonna say this, you guys do what you need to do. I love this UI and I'll be sad if it does go away, but I know that there are also lots of other people that love this UI too that'll try to keep it alive. My one request is that you guys pass the torch to coders who do plan to keep playing and who understand how this works to keep this going. I'd be devastated with the loss of the UI that I have been looking at in one way or another since ICC, in fact I was just looking back at some old screenshots. Whatever you guys decide I'll support you in it. And if these UIs die... I'll just have to adapt. I've had to do it before and I'll do so again if need be.

The one thing I regret is that I'm simply unable to do anything myself to help keep things going, I just hope that someone does.

TukUI has kept me in WoW over this expansion, not to mention the friends I have converted to it.
If TukUI goes it will be a big disappointment, but don't burn yourself out with something that holds no interest for you!

The reason for me to play in MoP or not is this

Unfortunately, while I'm writing this article, we have in mind to stop everything (site, addons, etc)

Btw, i'm glad to have you (tukz) in my bf3 friends, if you (and elv) stop everything related with world of warcraft, i'm in advance very happy to play with you sometime and having fun on Bf3

You are just all amazing, all this community is awesome.
Btw, i've a serious question about this article.

If you stop dev with Tukui/Elv, and want to stop everything, it is possible to let this website up (i mean for both addons) ? It would be really awesome

So fucking good time here, i'll miss all of you guys.
*fucking tear falling when i write this post*

Good Job all, and i just love you. Awesome work, awesome guys (and girls), awesome community.

(Personnal question to Tukz, do you still play bf3 ? i can't see you online anymore :/)

This morning i woke up, fired up my 2 usual sites in the morning : mmo-champ and tukui.org, first excitement on mmo : MoP out ! woohoo.. then i switch tab : "Mists of Pandaria Beta very SOON / Will Tukui & ElvUI survive? / MoP Stream" bang, day ruined.

Tukz,Elv, and all other moderators, editors and the community. you guys did more than an awesome job. i have been there since the day i saw a screenshot somewhere and never left since, supporting the community since day one with donations and premium. Playing wow with tukui has not only made my game experience better but changed the way i play the game! and as strangely as it is, made my put my nose in some coding files :o !

As someone said at the beginning, if you want and feel to stop, the community, as sadly as it is, we will all understand it, this is YOUR time, and we cannot be asking (or any other words :p) you to update the UI and therefore play the game if you dont want to anymore, makes no sense to do something we don't want right? for sure there will be ton of people i guess willing to help you update it etc.. but i can feel in your writting that you wanna keep this thing either 100% or not do it at all ;-) your baby right :-P

hopefully you change your mind, but not only because we will all miss you and this ui, but because you feel playing it again :) i won't say that i won't play without tukui, i've been on this game since day 1 and still enjoy it (even though it might be strange for people, yeah it happens!) but it will drastically kill my fun and pleasure !

Many thanks to all of you again !

    Cheers

I'll be playing through MoP and probably whatever expansions they throw at us after that aswell. I enjoy WoW and I enjoy playing with the people I know in WoW.

I'm not sure what I would do if ElvUI wasn't updated for MoP (I'd probably try to bribe Elv into updating it :P), but I know for a fact that I would keep playing. It would probably take a while getting used to the look and feel of a collection of addons instead of everything bundled into ElvUI, but I would learn to live with it eventually.

Tukui (Sno's edit) and eventually ElvUI was the reason I got interested in lua coding. While I'm not really that good at it, it has brought me many hours of hair pulling and other forms of excitement trying to figure out why something wasn't working like I wanted it to, and for that I thank you all.

In the end we all have to do what we all have to do. I will support the decision, whatever it might be, but I'd prefer to see the community going on through MoP aswell.

@Scoz: yes we play bf3 but not really since the last 2 weeks, we were mostly testing latest D3 patch and played Mass Effect 3 solo/mp.

@Everyone: I think you make a mistake about my intentions. I never said that I did not like to code/update the project. In fact, I love coding on several languages, including on WoW. What I do not like is to spend time on something which is barely used by just a couple of peoples. I was continuing in Cataclysm because at launch, there was a tons of peoples using our stuff and we had tons of support. At the moment, it's just completely the opposite according to the site activities, # of WoW subs, etc. I just doubt that it will never be as it was before, because of the reasons I wrote in the latest blog. Coding is a hobby for me, as it is with PC games.

This blog is more or less a way for me and Elv to do a check all around the world to see who's using Elvui or Tukui. The more support and replies we get on this blog, the more it will influence the future of both project for MoP.

Back on WoW for MoP, streaming almost everytime I play here.

Tukui, for me, became mandatory part of the UI in PVP since some PVP addons such as Gladius are no longer up-to-date and cause many errors. Also nice and clean user interface which is configurable and completely customizable made me stick with it. Now I barely can image myself playing without Tukui in PVP aspect.

Elvui, for me, became mandatory part of the UI in PVE because of, again, configurable and completely customizable interface + great features for PVE such as class timers and /bags sort function. Now I barely image myself using different UI in PVE aspect of the game without Elvui

P.S. I will anyway continue play WoW for several reasons, my friends play and this is the only good MMORPG, ONLY in my opinion, which is worth of playing.
however i would be hard to take if you, Tukz and Elv, will decide to stop project. But remember no matter what decision you will make I will respect your choice and wish you will at least give Mists of Pandaria a try and create test UI for 5.0 Patch and see how it goes.

Looking at the total downloads on curse I don't think it is as bad as you say. Between Tuk/Elv there are almost 2 million downloads.

^^ this, and the lack of traffic on tukui.org might not fully reflect the lack of interest and or the lack of people using it to be honest, almost all the people i know are using Tukui/Elvui, but none of them have an account here or even ever browsed the forum. they just got it from curse and use it :)

I love ElvUI, it makes my game look pretty and that make my game experience a lot better.

I know a few people in my guild use ElvUI, as they are always asking me for help :P, but I don't think they know about the existence of this site.

I'd like to thank both Tuk and Elv for their continued support on both ElvUI and TukUI.

I really hope you guys carry it on into MoP, but if you don't then good luck in whatever you take on next :)

Actually me myself quit WoW for SWTOR, but I came back a couple of weeks ago. Even if I don't play that much anymore but I just like to code some stuff. See it like this, you do not code for other people, you code because you like the challenge and there is no better feeling than achieving something nobody else has done before.
Reasons why I came back to actually play WoW is that I think it has the most fluid and direct gameplay in the whole MMO industry. It is just slick.
