TukUI scared me early on as an Ag_unitframes (now Shadowed) user since when it started it was very hands on with lua knowledge. I went back and forth from Shadowed to Pitbull to some other crap ui and just used the more prepackaged addon suites because they were easier but then I decided I'd rather put some kind of effort into my ui so it didn't look like garbage.
I started off with TukUI god knows how long ago and liked it, but I had also come to like the look of Hydra's edit of it so I was on TukUI for a few months and then Hyra's edit for a few months and as a ui both TukUI and Hydra's Edit were beautiful addons. Then I came across ElvUI.........
What makes this addon suite so amazing is the work put into it by Elv despite the fact I think at one point or maybe still he was holding 2 jobs on top of keeping the community here happy and releasing quality updates.
Why I decided to write this...
The profile system............ The fact I can dual, and then tri spec via profiles on top of things (Ret, Prot, RetPvp) is amazing. I set one profile for all my melee characters, and import them and as I go along if theres something I don't like, I change it on the main profile and then copy the settings to alll my alts. FLAWLESS. Other addons did this but it was never as well set up. I set a tank spec with things the way I want it, and suddenly all my melee that can dps become tanks with the click of a check box and a change of a spec automatically. I don't heal just because I don't enjoy it but I do have caster dps so I make a caster dps template and bam all my casters have an instantly setup ui.
What used to take me hours upon hours to setup, now is a 45 minute (if that) setup while adding my own edits to some lua code. Thanks Elv

I still do not how to use the Profiles quite well, but this UI is definitely a major upgrade from anything else UI wise.

Indeed, i had quit using ElvUI, because not in Curse anymore, but HAD to come back due to blizz raid frames being so buggy to me. Tried grid and vuhdo. Grid doesn't remove blizz raid frames on its own. And vuhdo is too much hassle to set up. ElvUI looks great and offers more than I need. And probably this isn't the place to do so, but I have some suggestions about bag frames. Make it a bit more like BagOn, where you can check bags from alts, and even the banks from different chars. Also why not try to differentiate a bit more non-usable gear as well as items that start quests? Because right now only items that are already flagged as quest items are colored red. Currently if you have more than 1 profession bag, when you chose to stack/sort the bags, it treats each one separately unlike the common bags. Couldn't they be made to work as the normal bags do? And also if you have free slots in profession bags, move items from common bags into these. :)
The spec swaping profiles is the best I have seen in any addon. And you don't get errors from having a profile from 1 spec/class imported to a different one. I just need 2 profiles: 1 general for tank/caster/melee/ranged and another for healer.
ElvUI would be fine if just to keep it working with each new patch, yet you still find ways to improve it. Amazing work.

Well, that's strange, a week ago my several herbalism bags wouldn't stack/sort as if they were just one bag. And now they do! Awesome stuff. Still, it would cool if my herbs in normal bags would go to herbalism bags when i click sort/stack button.
