Classic TBC Addons

world of warcraft
Categories > Skins > ElvUI Login Screen and Character Select
made by eltreum
This is not an addon, but a button, glue and frame replacement.

There are 2 main versions, Red and Blue, which have two versions each: Regular and Transparent.

Installation

Choose your version of the game: Retail, Classic or Burning Crusade Classic.
Classic and Burning Crusade Classic use the same files inside the Classic and TBC folder

Choose between Red and Blue versions, then choose between Regular/Opaque and Transparent buttons.

You'll download this file:
elvui_login_screen_and_character_select.zip

Inside of which you'll find these folders
  • Retail
  • Classic and TBC
  • README.md
  • README.txt
Inside of either Retail or Classic and TBC you will find
  • Blue
  • Red
The Red and Blue folders mean the colored version you want, choose one and inside that folder you will find these folders:
  • Regular
  • Transparent
Meaning the type of button you want, regular or transparent buttons. Choose one and inside you'll find the following folders:
  • Buttons
  • CharacterCreate
  • CHATFRAME
  • COMMON
  • DialogFrame
  • FrameGeneral
  • friendsframe
  • Glues
  • HELPFRAME
  • Interface
  • MacroFrame
  • optionsframe
  • PaperDollInfoFrame
  • STORE
  • Tooltips
  • Vehicles
You need to extract these folders into your version of the game as follows:

World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\ for Retail
World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\ for Classic
World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\ for Burning Crusade Classic

If you extract them elsewhere they will not work.

Burning Crusade Classic and Classic:
Due to the way blizzard uses the highlights some places will have mismatching sizes since the files are used on more than one place, this happens on the default UI as well but its more hidden due to its appereance.
Classic will have different coloring despite using the same files due to the way the engine handles the glues

The latest update fixed those buttons!

heres a screenshot of how the buttons look. they do change, but as you can see the outline for me is black.. tried every version the zip came with and it doesn't change to blue or red. the only thing that does reflect the colour is the highlight for selected character. is it possible that the colours aren't for the tbc version and i'm just looking at the retail screenshots expecting it to be blue and red outlined like the screenshots on this page? cause that would probably explain it lol, and i just assumed the tbc version would be the same as retail pics

@linu30

The tukui client pulls every uploaded file from here, so it will show up there even though it won't install glues because it was made for addons. Same thing for other clients like WowUp, Ajour and Cursebreaker, it will show but it won't install correctly.

The glues require a manual install

This is not an addon, its glues. Please follow the readme to install. There is not toc because it goes into your Interface folder not your Addons folder"

Then why is it listed and available for download in the TukUI client?

I got it to work following the instructions, just posted my comment since one might think it is supposed to work since, you know, it is listed in the client...

@goldenpipes: your can put your font into your wow folder somthing like:
World of Warcraft\_classic\Fonts\

Put the font files there and rename 4 copies of it to:
ARIALN.ttf
FRIZQT__.ttf
MORPHEUS.ttf
skurri.ttf

Be warned the font that you choose will show up in other places of the UI also

@d3aths can you link a picture to show what you mean? The buttons are what is supposed to change

"file layout contains no .toc files in the secondary directory"

d3aths May 23, 2021 at 09:10

both blue and red (all versions) of this addon aren't coloured for me. like, the buttons and everything change, but the outline is just black. its all correctly in the interface folder and classic + tbc fixes applied too.

goldenpipes May 21, 2021 at 19:59

what changes the font?
